We have seen farmers growing crops in huge acres of land. on the other hand, we have our little terrace and balconies left plain or planted some flowers. but a 25 years old Telangana based resident is connecting the dots. she is turning barrel cement terrace into green veggie gardens.

Heena Kouser is a freelance digital marketer and a copywriter, on the other hand, she runs a companypot to plate- now eat your own healthy food” which helps people interested in veg cultivation grow their own food.

she says due to overpopulation, people are not getting the right food on their plate.

“ everything is filled with chemicals and pesticides. and if this continues our hard-earned money will only go into hospital expenses so I thought why not cultivate our food. but metro people hardly have time for all these and even if they have they don’t know how to do. That’s when I got the idea of creating the pot to plate. whoever wants to turn their balconies into green veg gardens they can contact my team. We will help them out.”

How does it work?

Heena has partnered with nurseries who provide pots, mud, seeds and plants and whenever she gets a deal to make a veg garden she sends 4 trained people from the team to do the entire work from measuring the place, seeding the plants, making nets if necessary and guiding the owner how to grow them.

every 15 days or a month they test how the plants are growing.

She isn’t getting much revenue out of it as expenses are more than revenue but she is happy and satisfied. She is getting a very good response from people

To reach more households she is advertising using digital platforms. As a digital marketer by profession, she isn’t facing any trouble doing so. she didn’t stop there. she is making a compost bin which will turn left food into compost without any manual work.

“more than 80% of the waste we throw can be composted and turned into humus, a healthy food for our plants. but we mix it with plastic and create hills of garbage. but in our compost bin, you can throw the food waste except plastic and it will turn in compost in just three days.

She says every human has the responsibility to save humans and nature from harmful chemicals.

when she was asked how she manage things she said“ Freelancing allowed me to take time off and serve a bit to mother earth. I am leaving my life on my own terms and with 9 to 5 job it wouldn’t have possible,” she added.

She received many awards from the state government. She is also a yoga practitioner, an activist, skydiver and a farming teacher. In her leisure time she teaches children about farms, mud, birds and human connection to mother nature.

She says “mother earth showed endless love to humans and she still does but humans stopped. for which we started seeing the consequences. we still have time. we should start loving our mother earth just like our ancestors did”.

she is an inspiration for many youngsters and we are going to see many more contributions from her to us and to earth.
